Here at Canine Campus we are excited to announce a new obedience training program with the incredibly talented Patti Davieu. Patti brings more than thirty years of experience to the profession of dog training; she is passionate about helping her clients develop a bond with their dog and working as a team.
Our dogs bring us joy, companionship and a sense of pride. But when a dog continually displays negative behaviors, it can cause stress for us and for them. Making sure a dog is trained properly is the responsibility of every dog parent, regardless of your dog’s age, breed or temperament. Most dogs love to learn new things, including commands, games and sports. Most importantly, during training, dogs are benefiting from one-on-one attention, which strengthens the bond between canines and their owners.
Dogs communicate differently than humans; many of their instincts run counter to our own. As dog owners, we need to understand how to better communicate and teach them how to behave.
Dog training classes are especially helpful because you can learn from watching how the instructor interacts with your dog as well as ask questions as they arise.

More About the Trainer, Patti Davieu
Born and raised in Sonoma, CA on a 2,600-acre ranch, the love for animals started early. As a child, Patti would never go outside without an animal following in her footsteps. In high school, Patti started to work with a dog trainer who did a lot of work with aggressive, reactivate and high-anxiety dogs, many of which had poor impulse and anxiety control issues. At that point she decided to make dog training her professional career.
When Patti moved to Colorado Springs, she started applying her training skills to more advanced work. Patti started with the breed of Bernese Mountain Dogs in 1993, and to this day still has the breed. In the years to come she became very active with the conformation ring, obedience, agility, carting (draft work) pet therapy work, and service dog training.
Patti became an accredited dog trainer and worked as an area dog trainer for PetSmart for 8 years. She joined the staff as a lead trainer at Colorado Dog Works for 4 years; we are so excited to now welcome her to Canine Campus!
Patti is an accredited evaluator for the America Kennel Club for Canine Good Citizen, AKC Community Canine and Urban CGC. She is also a judge for the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America, and a Pet Therapy tester for Alliance Therapy.
Patti offers private training sessions on clicker training, agility, carting, teaching all types of group classes, pet therapy work, and service dog training.
If you are interested in registering for any of the above classes, or have any questions, please speak with a Canine Campus supervisor or call 719-448-9600.
